I've Got My Orange Crush

Inspired the Grand Scheme's post on that rad Phillip Glass Sesame Street video on colors and shapes, I checked the always-friendly YouTube to see if they had my favorite Sesame Street segment on how to make crayons. God Bless YouTube.

Just Let Me Hear Some of That Rock and Roll Music

Cumbria, England's bookish foursome British Sea Power have made one of the best albums of twenty-o-eight. I know it's early to say such a thing, but seriously Do You Like Rock Music?, BSP's third studio full-length out February 12th via Rough Trade/World's Fair, is epic in word and sound. They brighten up the best bits of their 2003 debut, The Decline of British Sea Power, while sharpening the softer edges of their sophomore effort, Open Season...or it's "Spirit of St. Louis" written a million different ways.

Read my thoughts on the album here, and check out the video for "No Lucifer."

MacKenzieLand Hearts Diamond Dave

Major props to Big Matt for bringing this rad piece of rawk to my attention today. Peeps, prep yourself to laugh your ass off to Diamond Dave's raspy, theatrical chops on "Runnin' With the Devil."

Don't be alarmed by the pauses. Just wait for those ooohhhhhhh aahhhhaiiiiahhhh moments. But seriously, despite the dude's lame clothing and cheesy stage antics, DLR was great ... in 1985. Hey, will he return to being a paramedic after his stint on the road with Van Halen?

For now, enjoy Diamond Dave as we knew him best.

But what I wanna know is where's "Hot for Teacher?"
