Gettin' Jiggy at Church

Ok, I just couldn't resist posting the following clip. Jill Peterson and Kevin Heinz were recently married in St. Paul, Minnesota and delivered some funky moves (and then some) while walking down the aisle. The newlyweds have become Internet superstars in just under a week -- the couple posted the clip for family and friends via YouTube on Sunday, and this morning they were sitting on the couch at the TODAY Show.

Anyhow, this video is amazing. Everyone looks like they're having an incredible time. Weddings are supposed to be *THIS* much fun. Ryan and I experienced much of the same excitement at our Michigan nuptials nearly a month ago.

The Colour and the Shape

Here's a look at one of my favorite segments from Sesame Street. As a child, the music was a bit much to grasp, but the overall presentation was both entertaining and mesmerizing. Take a look at Philip Glass' short animation "Geometry of Circles" from 1977. Incredibly memorable.

Watch the Guitar, Watch the Guitar

Many thanks to Alex for sharing this Echo & the Bunnymen video with me the other day. Heaven Up Here is my second favorite Bunnymen album behind the oh-so-underated Porcupine. In this 1983 footage from the German television show, Rockpalast, the Liverpudlian dudes sweat it OUT hardcore during their performance of "Heaven Up Here." Look at Ian McCulloch's shirt! Better yet, his hair is in tip-top form. Drummer Pete deFreitas (RIP) is drenched in sweat. God bless YouTube.

I've Got My Orange Crush

Inspired the Grand Scheme's post on that rad Phillip Glass Sesame Street video on colors and shapes, I checked the always-friendly YouTube to see if they had my favorite Sesame Street segment on how to make crayons. God Bless YouTube.

MacKenzieLand Hearts Diamond Dave

Major props to Big Matt for bringing this rad piece of rawk to my attention today. Peeps, prep yourself to laugh your ass off to Diamond Dave's raspy, theatrical chops on "Runnin' With the Devil."

Don't be alarmed by the pauses. Just wait for those ooohhhhhhh aahhhhaiiiiahhhh moments. But seriously, despite the dude's lame clothing and cheesy stage antics, DLR was great ... in 1985. Hey, will he return to being a paramedic after his stint on the road with Van Halen?

For now, enjoy Diamond Dave as we knew him best.

But what I wanna know is where's "Hot for Teacher?"
